We love seeing how creative our guest bloggers are with our files. Today the lovely Lyn will be showing us how to make this great scrapbook layout using the toy car cutting file from our collection. I have to say I love the colours she has chosen and I would never have thought to use it for a #newcar project!
- Dear lizzy Lovely day collection. Off We Go paper.
- Bazzill card burgandy and white.
- Embellishments; Fancy Pants Dream Big.
- Pinkfresh Studio Case of the Blahs alphas.
- Silhouette Cameo 3
- Brother P-Touch 1200
My first step when making my layout is to assemble all the things I would like to use that will go with the theme/photo I’m using. I cut out Helens lovely toy car file with my silhouette. I used Bazzill card on the following settings.
- Blade 5
- speed 5
- Force 15
- Passes 2
When I had this finished and placed it on my paper I realised it didn’t stand out enough for my liking, so I used my silhouette studio to make a offset cut, making sure to remove the windscreen to get a complete backing for the photo.
Next I placed my photo and the cut file on the page and started adding my embellishments. I mentally divided my page into 4 sections putting something in each section. When I was happy with the placement I started sticking everything down. My photo I made sure to stick down in the middle so I could place embellishments slightly underneath. Also to give depth sticking some embellishments flat and others with padded glue spots.
I then picked my alpha using the quirky Case of the Blahs alphabet and in true young person style #Newcar. There was still something missing and then inspiration struck. Using my Brother P-Touch labeller and clear tape I made a number plate for the car.
