Tell us the three most important things about you
I have two little girls who are both very creative!!
I’ve been scrapbooking for a year but have already done about 80 layouts and have even been to a scrapbooking retreat.
I’m not very good at drawing but LOVE doing it. It’s very soothing and I enjoy seeing myself improve at it.
What inspires you to craft?
Last year I decided I was going to do at least one creative thing every day. I started with writing but got frustrated because I wasn’t finishing anything. But then I started papercutting, making stickers, drawing and scrapbooking and realised that seeing the final project was so satisfying that it was better for me than writing. People finding joy in my finished projects makes me really happy.
What is your favourite craft?
Right now it’s scrapbooking. I use Project Life and regular scrapbook layouts depending on how I feel (and how quickly I want to see results!!)
What is the last thing you made and what did you love about it?
It was actually the gift wrapping I did for my little cousins 21st birthday gift. She’s very artistic so the pressure was on! But I used lovely handmade paper and made a paper crafted butterfly to go on top, as well as a handmade card and gift tag!
When do you craft?
Mainly when my kids are asleep unless the project is about them. I like to give it my full attention and that can be tricky when you have two kids under six desperate to borrow your doublesided tape gun.
Most loved craft tool (apart from your cutting machine!)
My double sided tape gun! Which is why I keep it on a shelf my kids can’t reach….
Best piece of advice for someone just starting out with their cutting machine?
Watch loads and loads of videos on YouTube and don’t expect to get everything right first time. You’re going to waste paper and card getting it right but that’s OK. And remember if it doesn’t work out right away, keep the scraps!! They can almost certainly be used for something!
What is your favourite one of our files and why?
I’m currently in love with the 3D Heart Shape Box as we get close to Valentine’s Day! I’m going to make lots and fill them with yummy homemade chocolates. 🙂
Apart from ours which is your favourite webpage to get files from?
I love the Silhouette Store because it’s so easy to import them into my software. I also really like LoveSVG because of the variety!
Thanks Emi Love that you manage to craft with the kids! Think mine need to be a bit older still! If you would like to keep updated with our design teams tutorials as well as freebies sign up to our newsletter below!
