Winter is one of my favourite times of year and I really wanted to do a scrapbook page for it. Last year was one of the first years that my then three year old got really excited about snow and we made a proper snow man! So I decided to commemorate this really special memory with this scrapbook page!
- 12×12 white card 300gsm
- Christmas themed accent paper
- Snowflake scrapbook cutting file
- Snowflake cutting file
- Thin glitter washi tape
- Cutting machine or blade
- Distress ink ‘Peacock Feathers’
- Distress ink pad
- Wink of Stella brush 999
- Adhesive glitter stickers
The first thing that I did was cut out the beautiful 12×12 Snowflake cutting file. I cut this from 300gsm card using my Silhouette Cameo but you can also use the PDF file provided in the download and hand cut them if you wish. Once this was cut out I used a blending pad and distress ink ‘Peacock Feathers’ to add a bit of colour to the snowflakes so that they would stand out from the white background.
Cut a 12×2.5 inch strip of your Christmas accent paper to use as a strip down the left hand side of the page. I made sure that the blue in the snowflakes was also in my accent paper to tie them in together. I glued this on a 12×12 inch white card stock. To finish it of I used a 5mm strip of light blue glitter washi tape. Once this was all stuck down I used a glue stick to stick the snowflake backing piece to the page.
I used what was left of my accent paper to back three photos of my little boy playing in the snow leaving a 5mm boarder all the way around. Arrange the three photos on the page until you are happy with their placement, then stick them down.
I wanted to make the page really glittery and the Silhouette glitter sticker sheets were prefect for adding a little bit more sparkle! I cut the word ‘Snow’ and some snowflakes out from this using the adhesive backed cardstock setting in the Silhouette Studio. It actually cut out really well and I was very happy with the end result. Once you have cut it out then place the word ‘Snow’ at the bottom of the photos and arrange the snowflakes on the page until you are happy with their placement.
To finish the scrapbook page off I wanted to add just a little bit more glitter (you can never have enough!). I used the wink of stella brush pen – my latest craft show find! – to paint on some more sparkles in the top right and bottom left of the scrapbook page.
I really hope you like the scrapbook page 🙂 If you would like further updates and free file alerts then sign up to our newsletter 🙂
