How to Create a Cactus Scrapbook Layout | by Lyn

Hi today I will be showing you a 12×12 scrapbook layout using part of Helen’s cactus cut file. This layout was inspired from Helens cut file. When I saw it my mugs/flowerpots came to mind. These mugs were presents from my daughter but I decided they looked great to hold my cactuses.

Materials

Helen’s cactus cut file
Crate paper wild at heart
Unkown Black with white lined pattern
Silhouette Cameo 3
Canon Selphy photo printer
Basic Grey Aspen frost sticky letters
Cork hearts – The works
Pinkfresh Let your heart decide stickers
One canoe two Goldenrod stickers
Lifelog paper stickers – Wish
Double sided sticky tape and 3D sticky pads.

How to cut the Cactus File using Silhouette Studio

I choose the Crate paper Wild at heart palms paper to cut out my cactuses. When I opened the cut file in silhouette studio I decided I only wanted to use the cluster of cactuses not the single ones. So I copied and pasted the cluster to another page and enlarged it to cover the bottom right of a 12×12 paper. I used the following settings on my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut the file.

Blade 5
Speed 3
Force 15
Passes 1

When I removed the cut file I decided I preferred the other side of the palms paper which was a raffia/wood effect. I then went through my collection of what I call my odd papers and found the black and white stripes paper backed it beautifully.

Next I collected together all the embellishments I thought would compliment my page and then played around with the placement till I was happy. The lifelog stickers were a real cheap find on Wish. You just have to wait a while for them to come. I stuck the embellishments down with 3D pads and doubled sided tape. I sometimes feel less is more and I wanted the cut file to really standout.
Finally time to add my title using basic grey letter stickers.

And there you are Mug! Flowerpot!
